The Designer in the Age of AI

The Designer in the Age of AI Shifting from inspectors to system stewards

AI can review, compare, and suggest. What it can't do is care about the outcome.

As tools automate comparison and regression, designers shift from inspectors to orchestrators: defining the baseline, setting the standards, interpreting nuance, balancing trade-offs, and protecting coherence across systems.

This is the kind of thing I write about.
