I design systems and write the code that ships them. 12 years at Orium, the last several at the seam between design and engineering, where I've gone from shipping products to leading how design works and, lately, building new ways of working: code-based, orchestrated agentic workflows that take routine delivery work off the team. I built Genie to do exactly that, I set the practice and standards others follow, and I write about where the craft goes as the medium becomes agentic.

Orium (formerly Myplanet) — Toronto · Sep 2013 – Present
Joined as a visual designer and grew into the design-engineering lead across a single continuous tenure.
- Built Genie, an agentic orchestration layer — a new way of working where code-based workflows take on routine design and delivery work. Defined the token contract, guardrails, and agent behaviors it runs on. Started as my proof of concept; now lives as shared markdown skills the delivery org contributes to.
- Lead how design works across the practice: Design QA systems, front-end integration standards, and the
/design Storybook agent connecting design intent to production components and tokens.
- Lead and mentor a team of 5; convene product, engineering, and QA on shared craft standards.
- Led product design across retail, healthcare, and SaaS — Softchoice, Kum & Go, OnLogic, and a Fortune 100 strategic planner.
- Architected and governed token-based design systems across teams and codebases.
- Implemented UI directly in React and Vue so design decisions survived handoff, making a single source of truth the default instead of rebuilding it per project.
- Shipped UI across enterprise and consumer web products; established the reusable component and token patterns that later became shared systems.
- Entry into design and client delivery; visual and interface design across early engagements.
- Designed accessible healthcare interfaces (WCAG 2.1); usability testing with patients and clinicians.
